《The Rose》是由Amanda McBroom創作于1978年，由Bette Midler在其領銜主演的《The Rose》(歌聲淚痕)中作爲片尾曲首唱，Amanda特別爲她配的合聲。影片推出後，獲得了很高的評價，讓Bette Midler奪得了該年度「最佳流行樂女歌手」的格萊美獎，另外，由于演技精湛，她不僅被提名角逐奧斯卡，更奪得「最佳女演員」和「年度最佳新人」等兩座金球獎。西城男孩的翻唱版本是The Rose 最知名的翻唱版本，作爲主打單曲收錄于西城男孩《The Love Album》專輯中，很多人都是從西城男孩的翻唱版本開始認識這首歌的。
